In April 2011 John Bettens will commence a walk from Rome to Santiago de Compostela in the north-west of Spain, a pilgrim’s walk of about 3,000 kilometres. He will complete most of it alone. The route will take John up the west coast of Italy to Genoa. From there he will head west across the breadth of France, and upon reaching Spain take the northern way which follows the coastline along the Bay of Biscay. He expects to arrive in Santiago between July and August.

His aims are:

• to raise $1 million towards the work of the Gawler Foundation
• to raise awareness about holistic healing for those experiencing cancer, and the benefits of integrated care which values nutrition, meditation and belief in the path you choose.

Jeff Lang will headline the inaugural ‘Music at the Healesville Track’ festival, coming up on Saturday November 20.
Jeff and band will cap off a massive 12 Hours of non-stop music on 3 stages from Midday to Midnight in what is shaping up to be one of the biggest community-oriented festivals ever held in the Yarra Valley.
The festival has been put together by The Healesville Amateur Racing Club to celebrate community, family and music.
The 2010 program features an all star line up with some of Australia’s finest artists including Jeff Lang, Shane Howard and Band, Mick Thomas and The Sure Thing, The Bushwackers, Damian Howard and The Ploughboys, Peter Denahy, Greg Champion, Tinpan Orange, Steve Eales plus many, many more.
